My Experience

Winter has always been a blah time of year for me, except for the time that we spent living in a warmer climate, I tend to dread the season as a whole. I now strongly believe that it is in large part due to the "Winter Blues".  Because we spend so much time inside during the Winter, the lack of light exposure takes it's toll.

While the kids can easily transition from season to season without issue, I need a little extra help. After some research I learned about light therapy, and was both intrigued and interested to see if it would help me with my issue. After receiving the Verilux HappyLight 6000, there were a few things that stood out immediately. It's compact; at around a foot tall, the HappyLight 6000 easily fits on an end table or desk without taking up tons of space (unlike other brands that are much larger). With two settings, I can adjust the brightness slightly to my preferences (which is nice because sometimes I prefer it a little brighter).

For the past couple of weeks I have been sitting with the light on while I work on my computer for about an hour and a half each day (at about the same time every day), and since the very first day I can actually feel the benefits. I have a ton of energy, and don't feel the same sluggish effects of the Winter. By this time of year I usually put on a couple of extra pounds (not from eating more necessarily, just from sitting around)...this year I haven't had that problem. I haven't  felt the same Winter slump since I began using the HappyLight 6000.....instead I have more energy and am in a much better mood!
