Green Eggs { and Ham } Chocolate Pretzel Bites - A Deliciously Silly Snack Recipe For Dr. Seuss Day

Are you celebrating the beloved Dr. Seuss, on Dr. Seuss Day { March 2nd } with your children? We are! Every year, since my oldest children were little, we have had a little celebration - be it with a fun craft or a silly recipe. It's a tradition around here. This year we made these adorable "Green Eggs" chocolate pretzel bites as a nod to one of my toddlers favorite Dr. Seuss books, Green Eggs and Ham. .
"I will not eat them in a house, I will not eat them with a mouse, I will not eat them in a box I will not eat them with a fox, I will not eat them here or there I will not eat them anywhere, I do not like green eggs and ham I do not like them Sam I am."

This is a delicious version of Green Eggs {and Ham} that the kids can enjoy as a fun snack or dessert on Dr. Seuss Day {or any day that you read this fun book with them, really}.

Green Eggs {and Ham} Chocolate Pretzel Bites - A Deliciously Silly Snack Recipe for Dr. Seuss Day

Recipe yields: 25 Green Eggs Chocolate Pretzel Bites
Prep time: 5 minutes
Bake time: 1-2 minutes

What you'll need:

  • a baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • 25 Green M&Ms
  • 25 white chocolate candy wafers (found at most craft stores)
  • 25 mini waffle pretzels or mini round pretzels ( we used gluten-free mini waffle pretzels)

How to:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Set out pretzels on the lined baking sheet in a single layer (leaving 1/2" between each)
  4. Set a white chocolate candy wafer on top of each pretzel
  5. Place baking sheet in oven for 1-2 minutes ( don't walk away - you want the tops of the chocolate wafers to be slightly soft to the touch - not melted )
  6. Remove from oven promptly. Allow to sit for 1-2 minutes
  7. While the chocolate is still soft, press a green M&M into the center of each chocolate wafer (making sure the M logo side is down/not visible and the all green side is facing up). Allow to cool/set completely for 15-20 minutes before serving
Enjoy!

Happy Dr. Seuss Day, everyone!
