A Little Bit About Kanani™ the 2011 Girl of the Year!
Meet Kanani, our 2011 Girl of the Year! She loves to share the aloha spirit of Hawai'i with others. Kanani arrives wearing a bright tropical dress, a faux hibiscus flower, a pretend kukui nut necklace, ruffled sandals, and cotton underwear. She’s soft and huggable with long hair for styling. Includes the Aloha, Kanani paperback book

Kanani™ arrives in a breezy outfit that's perfect for island life:
  • An ocean blue, floral-print dress with a sequined appliqué and a ruffled hem.
  • A faux hibiscus flower to wear in her long, loose curls.
  • A traditional Hawaiian necklace made of pretend kukui nuts.
  • Bright blue ruffled sandals.
The Kanani doll is 18 inches tall with a soft cloth body. She has hazel eyes and long, loose curls, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl. The Aloha, Kanani book is the first story about this cheerful girl who helps others by sharing the aloha spirit of Hawai'i. Author: Lisa Yee. Paperback.

Our Experience
The princess has become a huge fan of American Girl! The book's are fabulous, and teach our little girl's how to be the very BEST American Girl's they can be. We have made it our nightly ritual to read a chapter from one of her American Girl books (we've now made our way through 3) and we're currently  enjoying Aloha Kanani, the story of the 2011 American Girl of the year.

The princess' face was aglow when I pulled the Beautiful Kanani American Girl doll from the box (pictured above)! Kanani arrived with her corresponding story "Aloha Kanani", and the princess couldn't wait to get started! She loves to learn more about her friends through their stories, and has delighted in making friends with these beautifully crafted dolls (not a single detail is missed)! Every American Girl not only has a detailed storyline where your little one can learn more about their new friend, they also come with a gorgeous detailed outfit and accessories!

As a mother, I appreciate that the story lines in American Girl books teach my little one about the importance of upstanding values and morals, along with valuable points of History and geography in the United States. There are so many valuable lessons to be learned through imaginative play with American Girl Dolls and their truly unique stories! We absolutely love  American Girl and all that it stands for in our home!

The beautiful American Girl of the Year (2011), Kanani is available for a limited time only.

  1. My daughter just got her first American Girl Doll for Christmas. They are such wonderful dolls. We really wanted to get her something that would last and grow with her (she will be 5 in a few weeks). Glad your daughter loves them too.
