We have been trying to conserve more as a family, and the kids have loved being apart of making some of those small changes that can make a BIG difference. We used to go through a couple cases (at least) of bottled water, each week in our home.
My husband would take them to work with him, and the kids and I would take a few bottles along with us when were were out and about. Over time, not only can it be costly, it can also generate a ton of unnecessary waste. While we recycle at home, sometimes when we're out, there isn't a recycling receptacle, so more often than not the plastic bottles would wind up in the trash.
Over the past few months we have made the switch to reusable water bottles. We simply fill them up with filtered water (filtered through our filtering pitcher or the filter that we've installed on the tap) and take them with us when we head out. The adorable patterns on the Zak Designs HydroCanteen's have been a great way to keep the kids engaged with using reusable water bottles! They adore the Kermit and Fairies designs on their water bottles, and because they both love using them they are generally more inclined to remember them when we're headed out! Not only are the Zak Designs HydroCanteen's more budget friendly, they are helping to eliminate the large amount of unnecessary waste created with disposable water bottles from the landfills!
Zak Designs HydroCanteen's are available in a variety of designs and character themes, and would make perfect stocking stuffer's this Holiday!
You can find the Kermit and Disney Fairies HydroCanteen's at http://www.zak.com/ and at select retailers nationwide.
