I love this quote. It's become my mantra.

I think it's the same for all of us. We all have an ideal picture in mind of what we would like our lives to look like, and how it should all come together. Some dream of achieving financial success. Some are driven by benchmark goals, such as purchasing a home or a new car. While others simply dream of having a family to call their own.

For me, having a big family was always a dream that ranked high. After I had my second child though, I allowed other's thoughts and opinions to blur out my dreams. Most assumed that our family was complete, as we had "one of each".  Honestly, for a while, their thoughts and remarks made me feel a bit selfish for wanting to expand our family further.

I get where they were coming from.  Large families are no longer normative in the United States. Households with one or two children are far more prevalent nowadays.  Family planning is so incredibly specific to the couple though. It's an intimate decision made between your partner and yourself - with very little (if any) room for outside influence.

I'm so glad that I let go of other's thoughts and opinions and welcomed our 3rd child. I can't imagine our lives without him! We're hoping for a fourth child to complete our family. In the meantime, I feel incredibly blessed to be living a life that I love, because of the people who are in it. Just look at those little faces. Their smiles light up my world. They are my dream come true.

Whether you dream of having one child or ten children, if you have the means to do so, live YOUR dream, and build a life that you love! No regrets. Life's too short to live it any differently.
