10 Months Strong #SisterhoodUnite

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Similac . All opinions are 100% mine.

This little cutie is 10 months old! Seriously, where does the time go, friends?

Her pleasant easy going demeanor, gives way to giant belly laughs and frequent squeals of joy as she experience's all of the new things around her, each day. She alo babbles at us in length, complete with animated hand gestures (just liker her mama!)  At thi point, I think it's safe to say that she has each one of us securely wrapped around her pretty little finger; she knows it too!

My last two pregnancies were rough. In all honesty all four pregnancies brought their own individual challenges. With baby girl though, the challenges felt like a daily uphill climb. I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum with my last two pregnancies, as I chronicled here. My iron and Hematocrit  levels had dipped so low at the end of my pregnancy with baby girl, I was told that I was technically at the point where they would recommend a blood transfusion.  I opted to try to correct it with diet and supplements.  I began taking iron supplements and eating a steady {extremely} strict diet, and I still struggled to get my levels to jump even a fraction of a point. This continued right up to the day I gave birth, and beyond.

Though baby girl was born full term and healthy, she was tiny. In fact, tinier than my oldest daughter whom we welcomed 4 weeks early. Knowing that my other three children struggled in the beginning with breastfeeding and weight loss, it wasn't a path I was willing to explore with her exclusively; especially at just 5 pounds. So, I breastfed for six weeks and supplemented her from the very start with Similac formula. Honestly, it was a hard decision for me; especially with my mostly natural lifestyle choices. Though, 10 months later, I'm so glad that I made this decision. In all the stress of trying to tend to a newborn while also juggling my own health (and at the same time navigating some of the health challenges that my toddler was facing), it was and is the very best decision for our family.

After all, friends:

At 10 months, baby girl is happy and healthy, and she' racing through milestones in a blink! For this, my mama heart is full and my gratitude is deep.

At the end of the day, as moms, we're all working towards the same common goal; happy healthy babies. Whether you choose to bottle feed or to breastfeed, we all have the same end-goal. The science behind formula has come such a long way over the years too; which made the decision to formula feed much easier for me. Similac recently introduced two new products; Similac Pro-Advance and Similac Pro-Sensitive - the first and only infant formulas with 2'-FL Human Milk Oligosaccharide+ (HMO), an innune-nourishing prebiotic previously only found in breast milk (*at significant levels +not from human milk).

HMOs are special prebiotics found naturally in breast milk that help to support babies' immune systems. Currently, there are no other formulas on the market that have HMOs, these are literally the first and only formulas with the immune-nourishing ingredient. While breastfeeding remains the best option for babies, this groundbreaking step helps to further narrow the gap between formula and breast milk. Making it easier for moms who choose to formula feed, to feel confident about their feeding choice. While I know the struggle is real and the choice is hard, it's good to have such advanced options available, when and if you need them. Moms of little ones, remember: happy and healthy is the #1 priority.
