Lucky Rainbow Fairy Wands for St. Patrick's Day How To

What you'll need:
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • 18" wooden dowel
  • Gradient rainbow yarn
  • Green felt
  • Gold ribbon / gold trim

How to:
  1. Start by cutting out two shamrock / clover shapes, using scissors and green felt. Set to the side.
  2. Cut four 6"-8" pieces of gold ribbon / gold trim. Set to the side.
  3. Starting at one of the ends of the wooden dowel, place a small dab of glue. Press the end of the gradient yarn into the glue. Hold into place for a few minutes until the glue is tacky and the yarn end stays in place. Begin wrapping the gradient rainbow yarn from the bottom of the dowel all the way to the top, until the dowel is completely covered. Finish it off at the top by trimming the yarn then glue it in place with another small dab of glue.
  4. Now, lay one of the shamrock / clover felt pieces down flat. using a few dabs of glue, glue the gold ribbon/trim into place.
  5. Next, lay your rainbow yarn covered dowel in the center of the felt shamrock/clover (over top of the previously glued gold ribbon/trim.)
  6. Now, outline the entire felt shamrock / clover piece with glue. Place second felt shamrock/clover piece over top. Press for a few moments until glue is tacky/felt firmly in place. Leave your completed lucky rainbow fairy wands in place / laying flat until glue has had adequate time to dry completely. Preferably overnight. (Note: to speed the process up or to make many lucky rainbow fairy wands at once, a low temp glue gun and glue sticks can be used in place of the craft glue however if using low temp hot glue, it should only be used/handled by an adult.)
