Our Experience
As the new Friend Pack includes so many of the princesses favorite character's I knew that she would be overjoyed to check out this all new DVD collection (Available in stores February 1, 2011)! The all new Angelina Ballerina in CG animation, has become a beloved show for the princess, she adores dancing and loves to dance along with Angelina as she watches the show. In this adorable DVD Angelina learns about several different types of dance, and the princess not only had fun learning, but danced along as usual in pure delight!

Barney is an all time favorite in our house, and both B and the princess had fun watching the fun episode's about school (the princess wants to be just like her brother and cannot wait to start school!), and watching as Barney and his friends had a blast in the park (the kids also can't wait for all of this snow to melt so they can get back outside;)

Although the princess is not very familiar with Fifi and the Flowertots, she was excited to have the opportunity to check out Fifi and her cute flower friends as they put together an adorable talent show!

Overall, wonderful compilation of some of our absolute favorite character's!

The Friend Pack from HIT Entertainment would make a wonderful Valentine's Day treat for little one's!

Nutrisystem Update: Week 12 (Review & Giveaway)

I can hardly believe that 12 weeks have gone by since I started back down the path towards my ultimate goal weight again on Nutrisystem! I have had such an amazing journey so far ! Beyond the great food and weight lost so far I have made friends, and come across some truly incredible women who are also taking the initiative to live a healthier life with Nutrisystem! Nutrisystem really has been life changing for me. One of the reason's that this program has been so easy for me to stick to, is the delicious food options.

Recently Nutrisystem has been expanding their menu and adding new choices in both Pantry and Frozen Select options (like the Scrambled Eggs with Vegetables and the Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar pictured below). My new absolute favorite is from the frozen select line; the Shrimp Alfredo(pictured above left)...DELICIOUS!(is this really a diet?!)
After a week of frigid temperatures in our area, and two (yes, TWO) snow storms (we have a foot and a half of snow on the ground and it's snowing as I type this...SUMMER COME BACK!) I started off the week with the best of intentions however, didn't get out nearly as much as I wold have liked to. So, with the minimal exercise that I did indoor's at home, I was able to lose another pound (not an earth shattering number...but, I'll take it! :). I am a little nervous with only four weeks left to go on the program that I may not make it to my goal weight, but I continue on with optimism! Our Experience
I have to admit, I don't always add softener. Occasionally when I'm feeling particularly domestic I do....however, dryer sheets have always been easier for us. I don't have to remember to add softener during the wash cycle or buy a softener gadget of sorts to put the softener in....it's just easier. With everything that I have to do ton of different thing's in the coarse of a day (as do most mom's)  and I'll be the first to admit that when I can simplify and make thing's easier, I do!

So, as when I was offered the opportunity to check out the all new Purex Softener Crystals, as a member of the Purex Insider's.....I was intrigued to see what it was all about. A softener that is 92% Natural (HUGE PLUS FOR ME!) that could be added to the wash in the beginning of the wash cycle with the detergent? Sounded pretty neat! And it is! I simply measured and added a small amount of the Purex Crystals to the wash, and it dissolved quickly (although the crystals are different colors, they do NOT dye your clothes or leave residue behind in the washer, another plus!). After I transferred the load of laundry into the dryer, I was pleasantly surprised by the aroma coming from the laundry room, and even more so when I removed it from the dryer and all of the clothes were not only soft, but smelled incredibly fresh. Our Experience
Ever since I happened upon Hearth Song, I've had a hard time shopping in traditional toy stores, none, in my opinion come close in comparison. The unique selection of toys, games, and arts & crafts (many exclusive to Hearth Song) is exactly what I'm looking for as a mother. I want my children to grow through imaginative play, and through creating, and Hearth Song offers a variety of item's that allow them to do just that!

With the upcoming Valentines Holiday and being that we are a crafty kind of family, I was overjoyed to see all of the creative projects and decorations offered at Hearth Song! We were sent the Hearth String Lights, the Beaded Hearts Kit, the Color My Heart Pendants Kit, and the My Art Place Hanging Art Gallery for review, and WOW!

First we got in the Valentines Day Spirit by hanging the Heart String Lights in our playroom, we wrapped Valentines garland around the lights and draped them from the doorway. These absolutely adorable lights bring a great glow to the room (adding some of the glow back to the room after the Christmas decorations had been taken down and put away:)

Next we broke out the Color My Heart Pendant Kit. The kid's got to make two pendants each (and mommy made one too ;). They had a wonderful time painting little designs on each (you can plan out your design on the included practice sheet before you start) and writing a little message with the included permanent pen. The finished product is so cute, and would make a wonderful gift for that special someone (or a great gift for grand mom). 

A few day's later we had a big snow storm, and were stuck inside for the day. However, we managed to make our own fun with the Beaded Hearts Kit! With a collection of beads, and wire we set out to make these little beauties as special gifts for family member's this Holiday. And while it was a little difficult for the princess (she's slightly under the recommended age) B easily assembled his heart with a little assistance from myself.

While browsing through the arts & crafts section the My Art Place Hanging Art Gallery caught my eye.  We have quite a few pictures that are hanging on our refrigerator, and while I LOVE to enjoy the kid's art work, they have a tendency to fall off when we open and close the refrigerator & freezer door. This was the perfect way to remedy that! We hung it on a hook on the Playroom door, and the kid's not only love it, they have so much pride seeing their creations displayed in the My Art Place Hanging Gallery! Really, AWESOME! We are thinking of ordering them each one for their bedroom doors.

Our Experience
B absolutely LOVE'S playing with his Nintendo DSI XL, and as much as I like for him to have fun, I also prefer that if he is spending the time, that he's learning something in the process. As a mom Scholastic is a familiar name that I've come to know and trust over the year's. They publish wonderful children's book's, and have a variety of other fun products that are great for the kiddo's.

As I was doing a search recently for some new constructive game options for B, I was delighted to come across the new line of games for Nintendo DSI (Scholastic has also released a line of games for Nintendo Wii)! While offering tons of fun and interactive elements, these games are also offering learning opportunities.

We received My Amusement Park, Digging for Dinosaurs, and I Spy Universe for review, and all became fast favorites! My Amusement Park offers several game play options that incorporate matching, memory, and spatial reasoning skills into the several games offered on My Amusement Park (each game is fashioned after Amusement Park favorites). 

Digging for Dinosaurs definitely spiked interest with B, as he is a HUGE fan of all thing's Dinosaurs and got to learn some fun & amazing facts while playing the game (between all of the great books, a favorite children's program, and now this great game, B definitely has amassed more knowledge about Dinosaurs than DH and myself have!).

Next, we checked out I Spy Universe. Fashioned after some of the great I Spy Books - I Spy Universe offers so many opportunities to play and learn! Packed with fun riddles, and images to seek....this game could occupy for hours on end!

B definitely has had a wonderful time playing these games, and as a mom I feel wonderful that he is LEARNING while he's playing!

I would highly recommend these Scholastic titles for Nintendo DS, hours of Learning FUN await!

Our Experience
We love Sesame Street, it's one of our absolute favorite shows in our home. As a mother I have come to love these lovable little monster's that teach my little one's the importance of manner's and educational lessons through this adorable platform. I watched Sesame Street as a child, and now my children watch Sesame Street, simply the amount of time that this show has been around speaks VOLUME'S for the content!

That being said, we were excited to learn about the all new Shalome Sesame Series of DVDS! Teaching our little one's about other cultures is a priority for us, and what better way to do that than through their lovable furry friends from the cast of Sesame Street?! We had the opportunity to check out Shalome Sesame: Mitzvah on the Street. What an amazing DVD! Not only was it entertaining, it taught the importance of community and coming together in difficult times to help those around us who may be in need. The kid's loved watching Grover attend the Bar Mitzvah in Jerusalem, and learning about another culture and area of the World. We absolutely love the Shalome Sesame series, and plan to check out additional titles from the series soon!

Our Experience
B is always up for a good episode of Thomas, and recently the princess seems to be just as into the friendly blue engine as her big brother! They were super excited when the new engine "Scruff" was introduced on this adorable DVD, and I have to say as I parent I am enjoying Thomas & Friends  in CG Animation! It's allot more fun to watch, and I can really get into it with the kid's. The exciting adventures of Thomas & Friends: Wobbly Wheels & Whistles was a HUGE hit in our house and has been viewed repeatedly since it arrived....definitely a FAST FAVORITE! It's sure to be a hit with all little train lover's!

Our Experience
The recent FRIGID cold temperatures here  in the North East U.S. are not exactly my favorite part of living in this area of the country. I love Spring, am a huge fan of Fall, and can tolerate the Summer, however the Winter makes me want to move some place WARM!

Our Experience
The princess has become a huge fan of American Girl! The book's are fabulous, and teach our little girl's how to be the very BEST American Girl's they can be. We have made it our nightly ritual to read a chapter from one of her American Girl books (we've now made our way through 3) and we're currently  enjoying Aloha Kanani, the story of the 2011 American Girl of the year.

The princess' face was aglow when I pulled the Beautiful Kanani American Girl doll from the box (pictured above)! Kanani arrived with her corresponding story "Aloha Kanani", and the princess couldn't wait to get started! She loves to learn more about her friends through their stories, and has delighted in making friends with these beautifully crafted dolls (not a single detail is missed)! Every American Girl not only has a detailed storyline where your little one can learn more about their new friend, they also come with a gorgeous detailed outfit and accessories!

As a mother, I appreciate that the story lines in American Girl books teach my little one about the importance of upstanding values and morals, along with valuable points of History and geography in the United States. There are so many valuable lessons to be learned through imaginative play with American Girl Dolls and their truly unique stories! We absolutely love  American Girl and all that it stands for in our home!

Our Experience
Barney is an absolute favorite in our home, and we had a wonderful time checking out Barney's new DVD, Barney's Musical Zoo recently! With several lessons to be learned throughout the DVD (one of the top reason's that I love Barney...he's constantly teaching..be it manner's or the ABC'S!) the kid's were definitely captivated by the bright colors and all of the adorable animals!

Barney's Musical Zoo on DVD is Wild MUSICAL FUN, for the whole family! The perfect way to keep the kid's entertained and actively learning on long winter days!
