How Are You Giving Back This Holiday Season? #WishesDelivered

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of UPS. All opinions are 100% mine.
If you were to ask my family, I go a little overboard during the holidays. It's kind of my thing. I really get into the spirit of the season! As I prepare to celebrate with my family this year, I'm also looking to give back as much as I can within our community.

There are so many simple ways to give during the holiday season. some don't cost a penny and only require the gift of your time or service. While other's come at a small cost, and mean the world to the recipient.

Almost every store that I've walked into this holiday season, has offered the opportunity to give back in some small way.

Some stores ask for small charitable donations at the register for a partner charity. These donation amounts are easily tallied with your order and tend to range between $1 and $5.

Many stores have areas set up where you can pick a slip from a tree or wall with a child's name, age, and their holiday wish for a small gift. Most of these gifts cost under $20, which is an easily manageable donation for my family. Think of all of the joy that a small $20 gift will mean to a child this season, when they may have not received anything else otherwise.

While I may not be able to give big financially this holiday season, there are so many small ways to give back, that are so very meaningful to the recipient. These are some of the ways that I'm giving back this holiday season. In a perfect world, my UPS #WishesDelivered wish would be for a world without poverty and illness. For now, I'll keep trying to help in any way that I can.

What’s your wish? If you had one wish for the greater good this holiday season, what would it be? In the spirit of the season, UPS wants to celebrate the people in communities across America, that are giving back by doing something good for others. Share your wish with UPS using the hashtag #WishesDelivered. For every wish shared using the #WishesDelivered hashtag on Twitter, Instagram or shared through the #WishesDelivered Site, UPS will make a $1 donation to one of their charity partners (Boys & Girls Club of America, World Food Programme, Toys for Tots Literacy Program, The Salvation Army, or The UN Refugee Agency), up to a 150K total donation. This is such a simple way to help give back to some wonderful charities that are doing pretty great things this holiday season, and every day. Simply share your wish for good, or submit your story.

Check out the touching video below highlighting what Leslye Borden and her organization, Handmade Especially For You,  is doing to help give hope to abused women residing in shelters.

This video brought me to tears. She's giving small lovingly made gifts of hope, that mean so very much to the recipients. What an amazing women and organization!

You see - seemingly small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others.

What’s your wish? Share it today on Twitter & Instagram! Tag @UPS and don't forget to use the hashtag #WishesDelivered. You can also share your wish or your story of how (or someone you know) is helping those in need or giving back, on the #WishesDelivered Site
