Think about it. At the end of the day, is there anything better than being surrounded by the people that you love? I think not.

As we rush from task, to place, and back to yet another task each day, it's so very important to pause in moments of gratitude for the ones that we love. Tell them that you love them, and give them a warm embrace. The time that we have with them is a gift, and it's not to be wasted.

A few weeks ago, as temperatures dipped to negative digits in NYC, Snuggle Bear [the Jim Henson created icon] embarked on a mission. He set out to embrace the folks of NYC in a warm signature "Snug," on one of the coldest days that the city has seen this season.

This is my first born.

He made me a mommy. While all three of my children have taught me amazing invaluable lessons, he taught me how to be a mother. In those first few weeks after he was born, I learned things about myself that I never thought possible. The unconditional, insurmountable amounts of love that motherhood ushers in, is indescribable. Just indescribable.

I will never forget those first few days after he was born. We spent three days in the hospital. The night before we went home, he stayed in the room with me all night. I barely slept. Not because he was fussy; he was actually quite laid back. I just couldn't take my eyes off of him. He was perfect.

The next day, when it was time to leave the hospital, I found myself in a bit of an unexpected state of panic. My husband had gone to retrieve the car and we found ourselves alone in a quiet moment, while we were waiting for the nurse to come in with the wheelchair. A Nun passed by the room and she must have seen the look of distress on my face. She told me how beautiful the baby was and asked how I was feeling. In that moment I broke down. I told her how scared I was and how fearful I was that I would make a mistake.

What she said next, I will remember for the rest of my life.

BRR!!! It's cold! It feels like the Winter has officially arrived here in the Northeast part of the country.You know what that means? It's time to find indoor activities and outdoor winter sports/activities to keep the kids occupied.

If your looking for a fun indoor activity to do with the kids, head to LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Westchester. So much fun you guys! Our kids (as most kids their ages) are obsessed with all things LEGO. They can't get enough! They can build and build for hours on end.

We spent a day exploring at LEGOLAND Discovery center recently and I have to say, it's pretty amazing. When you step inside the bright entrance of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester, be prepared to be amazed at every turn. Just walking through "Miniland" will leave you in awe! I definitely have a huge respect for the impressive creations in this exhibit and the builders behind them.

The Pampers #BabyGotMoves event was recently held at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan - where guests celebrated those fun morning moments when baby wakes up dry, happy and ready to dance!

I did it! I walked the AHA Wall Street 5K Walk - and it was an experience folks! I can honestly say that I wasn't prepared for the distance. Doesn't seem like much - 3.1 miles. But done in a [ahem!] crazy footwear choice, with only a week to semi-prepare? It kicked my backside!

I accepted the invitation to walk the Wall Street 5K with Team Jenny without hesitation and without thinking of what it really meant. I walk - yes. It's even safe to say that I walk the streets of New York {on some days} at a pace that rivals a slow jogging pace for most Americans. But 3.1 miles [in sandals - I know, I know - OMG -WHAT WAS I THINKING?!] in all honesty, it was a challenge.

I finished in roughly 47 minutes. The clocks were a bit hard to follow, because they started when the first wave of runners set off- so it was a rough calculation. I was in a back wave of walker's and the start pace was slow, understandably - due to the large crowd.

Thursday was a super fun experience, despite the hot and humid 90 + temperatures in NYC [and my footwear faux pas, of course].

I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Valerie Bertinelli {incredibly sweet and down to earth} of Hot in Cleveland, who is also an ambassador for Jenny Craig.

Fact. Heart Disease has run rampant in my family. Sadly, it has claimed the lives of many of my family members aged 65 and younger. Another fact. Heart Disease ranks high among my biggest fears. As a mother, I naturally want to be there for my children every step of the way. For those huge milestone moments and all of the little moments in-between.

I have this looming fear though.

Since starting this blog, countless invites have landed in my inbox for events that have undoubtedly changed my life and have created memories that will last a lifetime. Though none quite as potentially life changing as an invitation that I received last week...

After attending the green carpet premiere of Epic in Manhattan last week, we had the opportunity to sit down with the voice of M.K., Amanda Seyfried [Les Miserables and Mama Mia].

Amanda voices the strong willed character in Epic [M.K.] that has recently returned home to live with her father, after the loss of her mother. Though she feels no connection to her father at first, she eventually comes to believe in him and trust him again.

M.K. 's father, Professor Bomba, has been researching the forest [and the miniature world that he believes exists there] for as long as M.K. can remember. It's what tore their family apart - so M.K. is naturally having a very hard time readjusting to her fathers ways.

Everything unexpectedly changes for M.K. though- when a walk through the forest to find her beloved dog "Ozzy" turns into an incredible journey of a tiny secret universe [that her father believed was there all along].

Amanda Seyfried describes her character in Epic [M.K.] as "strong-willed and disconnected from her father to the point where she thinks there's no way she's going to be able to even live with him"

"She ultimately comes to believe in him" says Seyfried. "He was right about so many things."

This movie inspires viewers in so many subtle ways. Beyond the movie, Amanda expressed how she believes that we can all help to inspire change through Social Media.

"Listen, I was against it because I didn't feel like people earned the right to know what I was thinking all the time or I didn't think anybody cared. And the fact is we all actually do have voices, especially with kids, I mean, and with a movie like this."

"So I think that it's important that we do what we can every once in a while. The Twitter thing, I didn't want to do that for a really long time because I thought it was stupid. But, I did do it because somebody made me."

"And I kind of like it now because when I have an opinion about something that I share with a lot of people, I feel like I can make like a tiny, tiny little difference to my small amount of followers, and that feels good." said Seyfried.
